BYOB BINGO, Feb. 21, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
BYOB BINGO took place in the gorgeous and historic Mahler Ballroom located in the Central West End and was emceed by the incredibly talented and entertaining, Michelle McCausland. We had many wonderful prizes, and several desserts were donated by Nothing Bundt Cakes, Missouri Baking Company, Hank’s Cheesecakes and Vincent Van Donut. Please support these generous companies and thank them for supporting Food Outreach. And, the next time you’re looking to host a special event such as a wedding or an anniversary party, please consider the Mahler Ballroom who kindly donated the use of their space for this important, annual fundraiser!
Dance for Food, January 26, 2020
Artists for a Cause and MADCO brought together some of the best St. Louis dance companies for the admission price of one bag of non-perishable food items. Dance for Food is a program designed to unite the dance community, rallying audiences to collect food for the hungry. Each “food raiser” performance included a range of choreography from five participating companies. In an effort to raise more food, there was also a competition between dance companies to see who can bring in more donations. We are so grateful to have been chosen as the beneficiary of this tremendous kindness!

Turkey Trot STL
Over 2,500 lbs of canned food was collected and donated to Food Outreach at this year’s Turkey Trot STL! Thank you to each of the participants and the Fleet Feet St. Louis team for such generous support of our clients and mission!
 
 
 
 
 
 
Food Outreach Dinner Series! October 12, 2019
We hosted an exclusive, four-course dinner and wine pairing fundraiser at Food Outreach. The dinner was prepared by Chef Ben Grupe and our Executive Chef, Mike Polcyn. Chef Ben is a James Beard Award Semifinalist for Best Chef Midwest, and is opening a new restaurant this winter, in the Grove called Tempus. Please watch our website for details for upcoming dinners in our series! The dinner was sponsored by BJC Healthcare and Schnucks Specialty Pharmacy.

 
Round up at Southern – September, 2019
September was #HungerActionMonth and our neighbor, Southern, took action against hunger by rounding up at the register for the entire month to help feed our neighbors! All round up donations will be used to support our clients living with hunger and a diagnosis of HIV or cancer. Thank you, Southern, for your generosity and support of our mission!
Pride 5K/10K Run Walk – June 30, 2019
The Pride 5K/10K is the annual fundraising effort that sustains St. Louis Frontrunners’ year-round nonprofit endeavors. For nearly 20 years, St. Louis Frontrunners, as the local chapter of International Frontrunners, has sought to provide an outlet where lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) individuals and allies can come together under the common goal of a healthy lifestyle through running and walking. A portion of the proceeds collected was gratefully donated to Food Outreach.

Bingo at Food Outreach! June 7, 2019
We hosted our first ever evening of BINGO, led by Divas Karma T. Cassidy and Jessica Leigh Foster and it was SO much fun! This sell out event included BINGO cards for all regular rounds, great prizes, freshly prepared food by our Executive Chef, and a selection of craft beer courtesy of Urban Chestnut Brewing Company.
Guests also enjoyed our Signature Blackberry Fizz Cocktail and other shrub samples courtesy of Heirloom Bottling Company and Tito’s Handmade Vodka.

TAPPED  – CHARITY OF THE WEEK – May 14 – 19, 2019
Tapped in Maplewood offers a self-pour concept, which means there is no need to tip. They pay their employees a living wage so they do not depend on a tipping system. However, any tips offered at check-out are given to a local charity that changes weekly. Tapped chose Food Outreach to receive all tips between May 14 – 19. We are extremely grateful for their generosity and for choosing our organization as a recipient of their tremendous kindness. Thank you to everyone who visited Tapped throughout the week to enjoy some great food, tasty beverages and donated their tips back to Food Outreach!
A Midwinter’s Night Dream Trivia! February 22, 2019
We hosted our annual trivia event at Orlando’s in South County, co-hosted by Crafted Events, who helped to organize the event, including decorating the room, emceeing, and developing the theme and trivia questions. Pajama wear was highly encouraged, and we also hosted a contest for the Best Onesie. Reverb, an A Capella group from Washington University performed live, and we also played some fun games, hosted a silent auction and raffles and took LOTS of photos. This annual event, organized by Artists for a Cause, Inc. (AFAC) once again benefited Food Outreach! Featuring some of the best dance talents in St. Louis, the price of admission was one bag of non-perishable food for our clients. We are so grateful to A4AC for choosing us as the beneficiary of this amazing collaboration!
The Diamond Shop, December 1 – 24, 2018
The Diamond Shop held their annual canned food drive for Food Outreach throughout the December holiday. Located at 12 N. Central Ave. in Clayton, owners Thom and Mona Kohn and their staff generously collected canned goods for our clients as well as monetary donations totaling $1,250.00! Thank you to The Diamond Shop for their kindness and generosity for our clients and their support of our mission.

Church Basement Plate Special – Vegan & Vegetarian Fare, December 7, 2018
On this evening, Sweet Art Bakery and Cafe generously donated 25% of sales to Food Outreach. This bakery/café features an all vegetarian and vegan menu and pastry items. Sweet Art is a family-owned restaurant that makes it a point to support other small, locally-owned businesses in our community by locally sourcing many of their ingredients and equipment. They also don’t take shortcuts on the ingredients and pride themselves on creating high quality, healthy and fresh-tasting food. Click HERE to learn more about Sweet Art and to see their menu. Toast Your Friends & Feed Your Neighbors, December 4, 2018
Craft Republic, Companion Kombucha, Heirloom Bottling Co., WellBeing Brewing, and SqWires organized an evening of tasting cocktails and craft beers with the proceeds from the evening benefiting Food Outreach. An admission fee of $10 or an equivalent donation in non-perishable food was collected. As a result, we received $132 in monetary gifts, hundreds of pantry items, 4 microwave ovens, a toaster oven and several can openers! We are extremely grateful for the kindness and generosity of these wonderful local companies who chose Food Outreach to support our clients living with hunger and HIV/AIDS or cancer.
Community Table Night at Hugo’s Pizzeria! Thursday, September 20, 2018
Hugo’s Pizzeria hosted a Community Table Night for Food Outreach where 25% of all sales between the hours of 5 and 8 pm were donated to Food Outreach. It was a great way to gather friends and family members to enjoy a wonderful meal right in our own neighborhood while supporting a great cause. Plus, September 20th was National Pepperoni Pizza Day (Hugo’s makes their own sausage from scratch while utilizing ingredients from local and sustainable farming), so what better way to celebrate the occasion than to enjoy a pizza with us! Steins for Support – Tuesday, August 28, 2018
Steins for Support occurs every Tuesday evening at Urban Chestnut’s Midtown Brewery and Biergarten (3229 Washington Ave., 63103) where 10% of beverage sales are donated to a local charity. We had such a fun evening enjoying some tasty beverages and food while helping our low-income clients living with HIV/AIDS or cancer. Thank you, Urban Chestnut, for your community kindness and generosity!
Care-E-Yolk-E, August 5, 2018
Our third Sunday Funday Brunch with a 3-course meal and unlimited trips to a Tito’s Bloody Mary/Barefoot Mimosa bar was a great success! DJ extraordinaire, Jeff Barnes, spun the tunes, and special guests, Divas Karma T Cassidy and Jessica Leigh Foster were amazing hosts! Hell on Heels, Saturday, June 16, 2018
The votes are in from the second annual Hell On Heels St Louis, and the new Miss and Mr. Hell on Heels have been chosen! Congratulations to Adria Andrews and teammate, Rick Knight! Their performance was super fun, creative and extremely well executed. Food Outreach staff members, Natalie Myers and Marcia Whelan were honored to have been judges of this coveted contest, and Food Outreach is most grateful to have been chosen as the recipient of the donations collected that evening. Thank you to Bar: PM and Rudis’ Men’s Leather Society for hosting the event and for your continued generosity and support!

Hamburger Mary’s Bingo Night, June 5, 2018
With only a $10 suggested donation to play bingo (and with all of the proceeds benefiting Food Outreach), our staff and guests had such a great time at Hamburger Mary’s! There was constant entertainment throughout the evening from performers, Desire’ Declyne and Nina DiAngelo, and the food was scrumptious!

CRANKSGIVING 2017
For the past 12 years, St. Louis Bicycle Works has organized the annual Cranksgiving food drive and family-friendly bicycle ride to benefit Food Outreach. The 2017 ride brought in 8,415 collected items (assorted cans, boxed cereal, etc.). Plus, St. Louis Bicycle Works collected $787 in donations from their registrations site and $864 in cash was donated at the Food Outreach table! These donations will help support our nearly 2,000 clients for 3 to 4 months! Thank you to the BWorks staff, volunteers, and the hundreds of generous riders who make Cranksgiving such a fun event each year. We also wish to thank the other event partners, Schlafly Tap Room (who donated $422 from their food sales), the Alpine Shop (who was on hand to assist with bicycle repairs), Tiny Little Monster (who donated $500 to us from their t-shirt sales), and all of the participating grocery stores (Save-A-Lot, Fields Foods, Aldi, Lucky’s Market, and Shop ‘n Save). Many, many appreciations to each of the community partners and riders who support those in our community who are not only afflicted with HIV/AIDS or cancer but also struggling to find the food and nutrition they need.

SCare-E-Yolk-E, Sunday, October 29, 2017
We hosted our second Sunday Funday Brunch and everyone was treated to a delicious meal with unlimited trips to the Bloody Mary/Mimosa/Bellini bar, with the opportunity to belt out some tunes courtesy of Karaoke guru, JEFF BARNES.
Additionally, special guest, KEVIN STEINCROSS from Fox 2 treated us with one of his favorite songs, and STRANGE DONUTS graciously donated Fall themed donuts for the occasion. Chris McCarthy’s glass art (PARK AVENUE GLASS) was also available for sale with 15% of sales donated to Food Outreach. Additionally, several of our guests dressed up in their favorite costumes! Many appreciations to all who attended to support our mission and the clients we serve.

Care-E-Yolk-E, August 20, 2017
We hosted our first ever “Care-E-Yolk-E” Brunch at our center and it was a huge success! Everyone was treated to a delicious meal, a Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar, and the amazing talents of karaoke guru and award winning Elvis tribute artist, Jeff Barnes. We also hosted a raffle for an Apple iPad Mini 2, thanks to a generous donation from our Board President, Lee Kling.
Additionally, due to the support of our guests, we were able to double our fundraising goal! Thank you to everyone who attended and for your generous support of our mission.
