Community Table Night at Hugo’s Pizzeria! Thursday, September 20

Hugo’s Pizzeria hosted a Community Table Night for Food Outreach where 25% of all sales between the hours of 5 and 8 pm were donated to Food Outreach. It was a great way to gather friends and family members to enjoy a wonderful meal right in our own neighborhood while supporting a great cause. Plus, September 20th was National Pepperoni Pizza Day (Hugo’s makes their own sausage from scratch while utilizing ingredients from local and sustainable farming), so what better way to celebrate the occasion than to enjoy a pizza with us! Steins for Support – Tuesday, August 28

Steins for Support occurs every Tuesday evening at Urban Chestnut’s Midtown Brewery and Biergarten (3229 Washington Ave., 63103) where 10% of beverage sales are donated to a local charity. On Tuesday, August 28, Urban Chestnut hosted a Steins for Support evening for Food Outreach. We had such a fun evening enjoying some tasty beverages and food while helping our low-income clients living with HIV/AIDS or cancer. Thank you, Urban Chestnut, for your community kindness and generosity!

Care-E-Yolk-E, August 5, 10:30 a.m.

Our third Sunday Funday Brunch with a 3-course meal and unlimited trips to the Tito’s Bloody Mary/Barefoot Mimosa bar was a great success! DJ extraordinaire, Jeff Barnes, spun the tunes, and special guests, Divas Karma T Cassidy and Jessica Leigh Foster were amazing hosts! Thank you to everyone who attended and supported this important fundraiser. We hope you enjoy the photos taken at the event (courtesy of Mary Sue Rosenthal Gee).

Hell on Heels, Saturday, June 16, 8:00 p.m.

The votes are in from the second annual Hell On Heels St Louis, and the new Miss and Mr. Hell on Heels have been chosen! Congratulations to Adria Andrews and teammate, Rick Knight! Their performance was super fun, creative and extremely well executed. Food Outreach staff members, Natalie Myers and Marcia Whelan were honored to have been judges of this coveted contest, and Food Outreach is most grateful to have been chosen as the recipient of the donations collected that evening. Thank you to Bar: PM and Rudis- Men’s Leather Society for hosting the event and for your continued generosity and support!

Hamburger Mary’s Bingo Night, 400 Washington Avenue, Tuesday, June 5, 2018
With only a $10 suggested donation to play bingo (and with all of the proceeds benefitting Food Outreach), our staff and guests had such a great time at Hamburger Mary’s! There was constant entertainment throughout the evening from performers, Desire’ Declyne and Nina DiAngelo, and the food was scrumptious!
We hope to return for another evening of great prizes, food and drink specials and more rounds of bingo, so please watch our website for a repeat engagement!

TAPPED in Maplewood, 7278 Manchester Rd. – CHARITY OF THE WEEK – May 15 – 20, 2018

Tapped offers a self-pour concept, which means there is no need to tip. They pay their employees a living wage so they do not depend on a tipping system. However, any tips offered at check-out are given to a local charity that changes weekly. Tapped chose Food Outreach to receive all tips between May 15 – 20. We are extremely grateful for their generosity and for choosing our organization as a recipient of their kindness.

CRANKSGIVING 2017

For the past 12 years, St. Louis Bicycle Works has organized the annual Cranksgiving food drive and family-friendly bicycle ride to benefit Food Outreach. The 2017 ride brought in 8,415 collected items (assorted cans, boxed cereal, etc.). Plus, St. Louis Bicycle Works collected $787 in donations from their registrations site and $864 in cash was donated at the Food Outreach table! These donations will help support our nearly 2,000 clients for 3 to 4 months! Thank you to the BWorks staff, volunteers, and the hundreds of generous riders who make Cranksgiving such a fun event each year. We also wish to thank the other event partners…Schlafly Tap Room (who donated $422 from their food sales), the Alpine Shop (who was on hand to assist with bicycle repairs), Tiny Little Monster (who donated $500 to us from their t-shirt sales), and all of the participating grocery stores (Save-A-Lot, Fields Foods, Aldi, Lucky’s Market, and Shop ‘n Save). Many, many appreciations to each of the community partners and riders who support those in our community who are not only afflicted with HIV/AIDS or cancer but also struggling to find the food and nutrition they need.

We hosted our second Sunday Funday Brunch called “SCare-E-Yolk-E” on Sunday, November 29. Everyone was treated to a delicious meal with unlimited trips to the Bloody Mary/Mimosa/Bellini bar, and also had the chance to belt out some tunes courtesy of Karaoke guru, JEFF BARNES.

Additionally, special guest, KEVIN STEINCROSS from Fox 2 treated us with one of his favorite songs, STRANGE DONUTS graciously donated Fall themed donuts for the occasion, and Chris McCarthy’s glass art (PARK AVENUE GLASS) was available for sale with 15% of sales donated to Food Outreach. Additionally, several of our guests dressed up in their favorite costumes! Many appreciations to all who attended this very fun fundraiser to support our mission and the clients we serve.

On Sunday, August 20, we hosted our first ever “Care-E-Yolk-E” Brunch at our center and it was a huge success! Everyone was treated to a delicious meal, a Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar, and the amazing talents of karaoke guru and award winning Elvis tribute artist, Jeff Barnes. We also hosted a raffle for an Apple iPad Mini 2, thanks to a generous donation from our Board President, Lee Kling.

Additionally, due to the support of our guests, we were able to double our fundraising goal! Thank you to everyone who attended and for your generous support of our mission. We are in the process of planning more karaoke brunches, so watch for updates on our website on our “Upcoming Events” tab.
