The Medically Tailored Meals and Groceries Program is our core service. We strive to serve each client with as many as two meals per day, year-round, from a combination of scratch-prepared meals and groceries, and/or nutritional supplements. Our focus is on balanced and individualized nutrition, and our menu selections feature a broad variety of items, including chicken, pork, fish, and beef, as well as fresh fruits and vegetables, pastas, rice, and legumes.
Our dietitians take note of your dietary restrictions to ensure the food you receive is complementary to your personal preferences (diabetes box, vegetarian box, and no beef/no pork box). We also have information in our nutrition center available to help you choose groceries in line with certain disease-specific diets.
Meal selections are driven by each client’s specific health status and dietary needs.
Our Dietitian and Chef work in tandem to develop menu selections, and clients order from a changing menu every two weeks. We also provide nutrition supplements (e.g., Ensure) to clients if they meet eligibility requirements.
Our scratch-prepared entrees and sides are prepared in our commercial kitchen, and then flash-frozen for clients to store at home. Meals can be re-heated in a microwave for ease of preparation.
All menu orders are filled in our Nutrition Center. Selections consist of a combination of groceries and scratch-prepared entrees and sides. Menu selections are trans fat-free. The Nutrition Center is open four days a week, including five hours on Saturday and Tuesday evenings, for maximum convenience.
Clients fill out a new grocery menu every two weeks. Homebound clients receive monthly deliveries.
